Since 1206, women have been answering God’s call to participate in the “holy preaching” of the Order of Preachers, with dedication to prayer and sacrifice. Our Dominican brothers and sisters rely on our lives of intercession to bring fruitfulness to the apostolic work of the Order.

Our Mission

By our way of life, both the friars and the nuns press onward to that perfect love of God and neighbor which is effective in caring for and obtaining the salvation of all people. As the Lord Jesus, the Savior of all, offered Himself completely for our salvation, we consider ourselves to be truly His members primarily when we are spending ourselves totally for souls.

The friars, sisters and laity of the Order are “to preach the name of our Lord Jesus Christ throughout the world;” the nuns are to seek, ponder and call upon Him in solitude so that the word proceeding from the mouth of God may not return to Him empty, but may accomplish those things for which it was sent. 

Free for God alone, we proclaim Jesus Christ by our purely contemplative life of praise, prayer and sacrifice.

“Lord, what will become of sinners?” That was the prayer of compassion which flowed continually from the heart of Saint Dominic, the prayer which led him to found the Order of Preachers. As nuns of the Order of Preachers, we are consecrated to God and proclaim the Good News - that God is truly with us - by our common life of faith and love, with the hope that every person will find true peace and freedom in His mercy.
